Founder Adair Maynard faced deep loss right before she began UVA’s Darden School of Business. Grief made even gathering memories feel impossible.
Midway through her MBA, she built the solution she needed, and Memorial Tribute Legacy was born.
The idea took off. Adair led Darden’s Entrepreneurship Club, won the CBIC Award, and was named a “Person to Watch” in grief care.
Today, that same passion drives every tribute we create, powered by a dedicated team committed to honoring each life with care and authenticity.

At the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council’s Student Gala on May 22, 2025, our founder, Adair Maynard, took home the top prize; one of the region’s highest honors for entrepreneurs.
Adair launched Memorial Tribute Legacy during her MBA at UVA, combining custom QR-code plaques with thoughtfully curated digital memorial pages. CBIC recognized her human-centered approach and how our products help loved ones preserve meaningful stories.
